You see, as far as I know I'm the only Trans gender who competes in Tennis from Australia. The last twelve months had been a whirlwind journey on the yellow Brick Road..I guess my tennis life is interesting...I get to play on both Women's and Men's side and even compete against juniors considering I'm almost 37! Of course Tennis is my passion...Ive also just became a Tennis Official.
2009 was probably THE year of my personal benchmark, You see I competed the World Masters Games. Sure it was overwhelming! Sure it was daunting, but what the heck? So I proudly flew the trans-gender flag ( sole) during the opening ceremony and contemplated what lied ahead.
The gamble on myself paid off with a silver and a bronze medal, whew! What was I thinking??LOL
This year had gone off to a good start where I made the second round of Mardi Gras Tournament , falling to the first seed in the second round. Mardi Gras tournament is part of the Gay and Lesbian Tennis Alliance...
You see, there's ATP, there's WTA, there's ITF and there's GLTA...
My weekly activities include:
Monday- Women s Tennis
Wednesday-Women s Tennis
Thursday-Men's Tennis
I'm blogging for my own agenda..Its a way of tracking my perfomace during the year , how my opponents respond, my super backhand, my mediocre forehand and my infamous grunting
The next few blogs will certainly tell how everything pans out...
